For a simpler and faster solution, we offer wire or plastic ring binding, for example, for academic papers or grades. Your theses will have a clean look with hot melt binding, and the cover layout can be customized to your specifications. As an alternative to this binding, we offer the less expensive and equally high-quality fastback binding.
We complete your orders professionally and on time, and our team will be happy to support you with printing and layout.

Wire ring binding
The wire-ring binding is a flexible softcover binding, allowing the document to be opened fully and opened flat. The metal spiral is robust and impresses with its simple design.

Plastic ring binding
This type of binding is flexible because the rings can be opened and closed to replace or remove individual pages.

Sure binding
The combs are automatically cut off after binding and firmly welded to the clamp rail. An additional filing strip allows the brochures to be filed in folders.

Hot melt binding
Hot melt binding (also called hot melt binding) is a special type of perfect binding in which the individual pages of the book block are glued to the spine of the cover using hot melt adhesive. The cover can be designed to flow around the entire document.

Embossing gives your thesis a professional and elegant appearance. Hot foil stamping is available for hardcover and springboard books. We use embossed letters to transfer the desired title to the cover. Embossing is available in gold and silver.
We're happy to back up your data on CD/DVD. We offer self-adhesive CD sleeves for gluing into your work, as well as simple paper sleeves.

Do I need an appointment?
No, you can come without an appointment. Please plan approximately 30 minutes for a consultation.
In which file format should I submit my thesis?
We ask you to save your file as a PDF. This way, fonts are embedded, and the PDF view on your monitor is comparable to the printed image. With Word documents, there may be differences in display and print depending on the settings used and the software version. Please note that we do not review the content. You are responsible for the content.
How do I submit my print data?
Bring your data with you on a USB stick or send us your files via email or a download link (e.g. WeTransfer) to info@vehmann.de or service@vehmann.de.
Pay attention to all order-relevant data such as:
- Number of copies
- Single-sided or double-sided printing
- Paper type (80g/m², 100g/m²)
- Black and white or color printing
- Type and color of binding

How do I set up my data for double-sided printing?
The page numbers are either centered or alternate between the front and back pages. Alternating the gutter on the front and back pages is also possible. TIP: Odd page numbers are on the right, even page numbers on the left. If you want single-sided pages within a double-sided document, please ensure that a blank page follows this page.
How long does it take to print and bind my thesis?
The processing time for printing and binding a thesis depends on the number of pages, the number of copies required, and the type of binding. Please allow 2-4 hours for production. For hardcover perfect bindings (leather and cashmere linen), 1-2 days.
Which type of paper is the right one?
Single-sided or very extensive work should be printed on 80 g/m2 plain paper to keep the book thickness smaller. 100 g/m2 and 120 g/m2 paper are ideal for double-sided printing.
Other paper types, colors and grammages are available upon request.
Are changes to a finished bound book possible?
With a plastic ring binding, the contents can be replaced later. This is often also possible with spring-bound books. Hand-bound books, such as leather or cashmere books or perfect bindings, cannot be opened without damaging the cover.
Can I pay by card on site?
Payment is made upon collection of your print order and is possible in cash, by card or by invoice.
